Meet the Partners
Scovis was founded by Travis Corwith and Scott Bouvia, experienced structural engineers who bring over two decades of combined expertise to every project. Their leadership blends technical excellence with a collaborative spirit, guiding the Scovis team in delivering innovative, high-quality structural solutions across a wide range of industries.

Travis Corwith, P.E

Travis has worked on a variety of project types including buildings, bridges and special structures. His designs have included use of a variety of materials including modern materials such as Glass, Carbon Fiber, and Ultra High Performance Concrete, as well as contemporary materials such as Reinforced Concrete, Post-Tensioned Concrete, Steel, Masonry and Timber Construction. Travis has been recognized as a Computer Modeling expert at his previous firms and at Scovis in the use of structural analysis software. He has been vital in successfully integrating building information modeling and structural analysis for intricate and complex projects.

Scott M. Bouvia, P.E., S.E.
(VA, MD, DC, PA, NY, NJ, NC, FL, IL)
Scott has a broad range of experience on a wide variety of project types, including residential, educational, commercial, and mixed-use structures. He is well versed in working with a wide variety of material types including Reinforced Concrete, Post-Tensioned Concrete, Steel, Wood, and Masonry. He provides quality assurance and quality control to maintain the drawings, specifications, and communication to its highest standard throughout the project life cycle. He also serves as a Structural Specialist in the FEMA Urban Search and Rescue System. Outside of the office he enjoys being outdoors, working on house projects, and working on all types of machinery with his wife who is also a structural engineer. Scott holds a bachelors of Civil Engineering Technology from Rochester Institute of Technology and a Masters of Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structures from Virginia Tech.

Daniel Moreno
Daniel Moreno, PhD, is an Associate Structural Engineer with more than 20 years of experience in analysis, design and retrofit of a broad spectrum of structural systems such as industrial facilities, commercial and government buildings, bridges and power facilities. He is an expert in structural analysis and design of high value, steel and concrete structures as well as performance-based structural design and finite element modeling. Dr. Moreno’s areas of expertise include analysis, design and retrofit of new and existing post-tensioned and precast concrete structures, reinforced concrete structures and steel structures.

Aaron Clauss
Aaron Clauss has 7 years of experience in the structural engineering field, including 3 years working for Scovis as a licensed professional. Aaron holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Purdue University. Aaron has completed several projects primarily in the healthcare, educational, governmental, and industrial sectors. He has design experience ranging from large tube steel trusses for public works, bar joist and precast concrete warehouses for logistics centers, and various delegated steel connection design projects. His other roles have included project management, mentorship, and site investigation.

Karina Niklaus
Karina Niklas graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 2015 with both a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science in Structural Engineering. Since then, she has built a career in the structural engineering industry and is currently a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Texas. Her experience spans both commercial and residential projects, with recent work including military base renovations and data center analyses. Outside of her professional life, Karina is a proud mom of three girls, three cats, and two fish.

William Rivera
William Rivera is a BIM Manager with over 20 years of experience drafting, coordinating, and managing teams for commercial, residential, museums, educational facilities, monuments, and government buildings. Experience in Wood, steel, and concrete structures. More than 15 years of experience with Autodesk Revit, developing content, training, and cloud solutions.

David Lee Chuy
Originally a Biology major, David switched to Civil Engineering while at the University of the Philippines Diliman where he graduated Cum Laude. He started his career designing buildings and civil infrastructure located in the Middle East Region, Australia and Europe. David returned to school in 2014, attending Purdue University and obtaining his Master’s degree. He has since gained extensive experience working on institutional, healthcare, and federal facilities including ATFP and progressive collapse analysis & mitigation. His designs span the different structural materials such as reinforced concrete, structural steel, aluminum, masonry and wood. David is a licensed structural engineer in Illinois.

Laura Hansen
Laura Hansen is a sophomore at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, pursuing a major in Finance and a minor in Marketing. She currently serves as an Executive Assistant at Scovis, where she supports the team by helping ensure the firm runs efficiently. Known for her passion for organization and teamwork, Laura contributes to a positive and collaborative work environment. With a strong academic foundation and valuable hands-on experience, she is eager to continue learning and growing at Scovis as she prepares for a future that blends her interests in finance, marketing, and business strategy.

Michael Kostick
Michael is a licensed structural engineer with over ten years of experience in the building industry. He holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Architectural Engineering from Penn State and has worked in the Washington, D.C. metro area since 2012. Michael specializes in structural coordination across disciplines and has experience in sectors such as government, military, commercial, residential, and institutional buildings. His expertise includes steel, concrete (including post-tensioned), wood, masonry, and cold-formed steel design. He has worked on new construction, renovations, adaptive reuse, and historic preservation. Outside of work, Michael enjoys the outdoors, home projects, gardening, and family time.
